Preview for Nicole & Mike

I have been working my tail off late at night to get this preview in before the holidays..so phew I did it! This wedding was full off surprises. It started off with an elegant ceremony in a darling chapel. Mom helps her only daughter get ready, groom steals a kiss from his first little lady his beautiful little girl. Bride is giddy before walking down, Dad is very cool and calm. Best man and groom share a laugh. Wedding vows are sealed with a kiss....but Something became very apparent during our "formals" this couple was ready to PArTy and be not so formal! Yes they are pinching each other's cheeks. I needed her three brothers to hold her for this not so formal sibling shot..it just seemed right! Stay tuned for the reception images. The reception includes a flash mob, a performance by the bride, a video gift movie, a tribute to a dear loved one and the bride's band takes the mic for a bit!

a teaser for Nicki & Mike

I am in the midst of editing this wedding but check out this beautiful BOLD bride. Sometimes I can't even wait for my preview posts, so consider this a teaser.. Two of my favorite bride portraits from this year have animals in them..perhaps I am becoming an animal lover? Thought it was a scarf?....wrong snake..yup...pretty awesome.

4 siblings & a cousin= ACTiviTy!

Kids are active, we expect that..especially when they are in a big group, but I love photographing children in quite moments in the midst of chaos...what are they dreaming about in those growing minds....So this was my final holiday shoot for the season two 8 months olds, two,2 year olds and one five year old phew....out with a beautiful bang!

Meet the latest addition to the "S" family

Every stop to think and forget to start again? I think this pretty much sums up motherhood, especially when you have teeny tiny tots like this couple. I feel like during this shoot I said where's my......where did we put the...have you seen my... alot? But look at this Mom and Dad they're handling it in stride, they're laughing and when Mom looks at her little girl there's a peaceful calm that sweeps across her face. To this brother and sister duo..May your bottles always be half full. Cheers to all!

Mini session previews!

Skyland's Manor was the perfect backdrop for this years mini holiday portrait sessions. It has been a pleasure photographing the families above. I have photographed some of the children above as newborns, first birthday etc. and it has been awesome watching them grow..the only problem is that it means I'm getting older blahhh....They have contagious giggles and grins and at the end of the day I feel so lucky that my passion is my profession....Thanks for coming out it was gorgeous day!

Rachel's turn to be in the pictures

When a photographer is a Mom you end up with a precarious situation.... You have a woman that completely values the powers of photography to remind, capture, heal, enlighten & validate to name a few....but... She the passionate lover of photography is so very often not part of the amazing imagery she creates. Well.... NOT this day for Rachel! Here she is surrounded by her two beautiful, silly little girls and husband. She even gets to be in the picture with here sisters, mom, niece & brother in law! You know that squeeze when you can't get close enough... I love how little miss "B's" face is so squished and the girls giggling above makes me giggle. As a mom photographer myself...and not particularly an overly sappy person I have cried at images that illustrate emotions between myself and my boys. It's no surprise to me that the first thing people say they would grab in a fire if given the chance would be a photo album....that's power....enJOY miss Rachel you deserved this experience!

baby "J" sits, rolls, tackles and swings

You may remember this couple from last year when I photographed their wedding. I remember the bride from third grade ;) Baby "J" is just so freakin' handsome that simple....and to top it off has the most adorable, pleasant, happy demeanor...he's the kinda of baby that gives women baby fever....The legs..do I need to say anything?..seriously can I have some butter with these rolls?....precious. I actually love this baby stage when they can sit, but they wobble, than fall and can't pick themselves back up.... going, going kerplunk..don't worry baby "J" Mommy and Dad will always swoop in to pick you up... but don't blink Daddy because before you know it he'll really be tackling you. These baby blue eyes are sure to break hearts, but for now they genuinely warm mine.
