42 years of marriage...Impressive!

Whats more impressive than new love..well for me...love that has stood the test of time. "N" and "A" met in their homeland of Argentina. "A" took a trip to the United States where he was instantly impressed by the city lights at night and that breakfast was served st 3am. This translated into more than convenience..breakfast at 3 am meant there was work at 3am...round the clock work was available in the U.S. So what was missing?..the girl! He headed back to Argentina to marry and scoop up "N" and they headed to New York..started a family and the rest is history...42 years later. We meandered around Warwick for our session. Warwick became a second home of sorts...from their urban base in NYC. Their journey together has brought them down many roads with much to celebrate...including grand children..some that even call Warwick home. While some might fear there will be nothing to talk about in 40 years with their spouse...this shoot excited me....My wish is in 40 years from now my husband and I will have SO much to reflect like "N"and "A" about the roads we have traveled. It was a pleasure photographing and getting to know you!

Guess Who's Engaged?

I love when I get to photograph a couple that rolls with my ideas...like put a leaf in front of your face or sit next to this hideous building....but I swear when I look at this building all I see is Tiffany blue..I'm just saying....

"m" & "i" are enthusiastic about the outdoors, particularly hiking and it was on one such adventure that "i" proposed....she said YES! Her ring is so pretty that I just had to photograph it. We hiked around Sterling Forest and I discovered that I need to hike more. The fall foliage and crisp air was so refreshing...never mind I should be able to walk up a small hill without huffing..maybe next time. Their fresh smiles and tender gestures made this shoot so enjoyable...I am looking forward to their November 2012 wedding..it will be here before you know it!

One quick pic for "M" & "I"

This is just a quick peek from today...I couldn't wait...I LOVE when an image does that to me... I have wanted to photograph at this dilapidated building for years....but it just never made sense until today. It seems so appropriate to me to flank new engaged love next to a a weathered building. Indeed that is what you are promising....50 years from now when you are past your prime..you are promising to still see beauty in each other & the great big world that surrounds you...rest up your journey has just begun.

meet the "E" Family

I met the "E" family at Bear Mountain State Park. They received a gift certificate for Jamie Kaminski Photography at a golf outing supporting the Ed Wallace Memorial Foundation.
(www.edwallacememorial.org) This foundation supports families in Orange County, NY facing a crisis and was organized by Ed's family.
My first impression of these two kiddos was WOW cheecks!!! They both have the kind you wanna pinch and squeeze! We walked around the zoo and yes I did lean over the bear fence for the photograph above....dedication.....or as her look would suggest what are you doing? My inner voice said...love... when I saw the picture of this little lady dancing with her shadow...it's moments like these that move way too fast. Little Miss "L" pretended to be shy, but as you can see she has sass. Little Mr."G" was a helpful big brother I can hardly take his little handsome head popping out from his baby sisters pig tails. Thank you for supporting this special organization, it was a pleasure to photograph your beautiful smiles.

FB makes the world so small

Face Book has made the world so very small and in doing so created large opportunities. I got to reconnect with this family. They were my neighbors when I was a child. "G" and I had similar childhood dynamics as a kid. My cousin came to live with my family when I was child and although she was 30ish years my senior Doris instantly became the baby sister I craved. Now as an adult "G" also has two beautiful children, teaches and is an amazing photographer in her own right......weird... must have been something in the water. I appreciated the chance to photograph this family that has blossomed with love. "Miss C" is clearly a proud Auntie and it was my pleasure to receive a warm hug from her..such a love! Look at Grandpa smiling at his granddaughter so filled with joy. After raising two beautiful ladies Grandma and Grandpa get to experience having a grandson and son in law too! I'd say...jackpot!

Hope and Strength

Hope and Strength.. every solid relationship needs these. The bride and groom ran in a breast cancer fundraiser and decided to incorporate this experience into their wedding with the bracelet favors. They shared their passion for fitness and family by taking part in this special event. Days prior to the wedding it rained...well poured. The tree and outside grounds were very important to the couple at their venue, it was one of the reasons they choose Valentino's on the Green . The ground was wet and I didn't want the bride to get her dress or shoes muddy, so I asked this fit physical education teacher to pick up and carry his bride to this scenic spot. The celebration continued with a lively crowd that knew how to dance. Wishing you all the best, the adventure has just begun.........

Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Parker

I am having a difficult time trying to narrow down my sneak peek..so I decided this will be one of two preview posts....I first have to admit I am really not an animal lover...sorry... BUT... for real...can you even stand the doggie and bride..licking her freshly make- up, wedding ready, beautiful face! I mean it her face... gorgeous! I couldn't resist this portrait through the veil. If you look closely you will notice the ring bearer is actually air born.. running full speed down the aisle! His big sister managed to catch some huge bug during the ceremony (no I don't know the name..not into the bug thing either). Not sure who had the handy food container, but this upstate girl was impressed by the Queens wildlife and landscape...beautiful trees to come in the next post. The brides father patted her head in the most gentle manner during their dance...get it together Jamie your the photographer you can't cry (but I did..just a quick little happy cry). As a mother of two little boys myself I am always going to be a sucker for the groom kissing his Mom..and look at how happy his grandparents are! Stay tuned the dancing just started....there was ENERGY at this wedding...more sneak peeks to come....
* special thanks to my fab second shooter Rachel of Rachel Leib Photography
