a blooper from A Smile to Remember

So because I have a loooong history with this little man's folks I feel free to share this ridiculous blooper. Definitely one of my favorite bloopers ever! There are three sides to every story. One he did in fact wake up a 4 am the day of this photo session at "A Smile to Remember". Two he at first, was not so thrilled about taking photo's. Three he totally warmed up and was a sweetheart filled with smiles, he did however manage to send me a subconscious little message..lol...truth be told he was pointing and giggling during this but.... seriously? I think his Dad will appreciate this...who OMG he looks so much like now, especially when he is laughing..crazy.

3rd Annual A Smile to Remember

"A Smile to Remember"
A Photographic fundraising event,
honoring the memory of Lynne Morris

This years "A Smile to Remember" will be taking place Sunday April 29th,
Place: Thomas Bull Memorial Park at the Arboretum, specifically near the 9/11memorial sculpture
Portrait Times: 9-11 am and 3-6 pm.
How to sign up: Please make your email reservation for a portrait time slot, I will begin accepting reservations on April 1st and they will be filled on a first come first serve basis.
Please write your preferred time.
If you could indicate age of children that is helpful when planning.

Details:Sessions will be aprx 15 minutes.
Prints are not included, but ordered and viewed online.
ALL proceeds are given to the Lynne Morris Scholarship fund.

About Lynne and her scholarship fund:

Lynne was a fellow classmate and dear friend from MW’s class of 96. She was a dynamic individual, who had a spark and zest for life. While she perished on 9/11, her wide smile is forever engraved in the hearts of those that hold her memory so dear. The Lynne Morris Scholarship fund is granted to a standout MW grad, honoring her accomplishments professionally and personally. The Morris family grants the scholarship.

So as the sun set the party began. Guests arrived via school bus, I had to take advantage of the back seat of the bus...ah we've all been there....what was his/her name for you?...hmmm... The bride walked into the reception singing, with her captivating powerful voice. She shared a dance with her first man..Daddy and a sweet embrace, with her flower I love you forever girl. Things began to heat up with dessert. I love the bride's reaction to the surprise dance everyone prepared. Her band even took the floor for a bit. Yes some did party til' they dropped as for the bride & groom I'm sure the night didn't last long enough, but that is why you have a lifetime...very best wishes to you both!

Preview for Nicole & Mike

I have been working my tail off late at night to get this preview in before the holidays..so phew I did it! This wedding was full off surprises. It started off with an elegant ceremony in a darling chapel. Mom helps her only daughter get ready, groom steals a kiss from his first little lady his beautiful little girl. Bride is giddy before walking down, Dad is very cool and calm. Best man and groom share a laugh. Wedding vows are sealed with a kiss....but Something became very apparent during our "formals" this couple was ready to PArTy and be not so formal! Yes they are pinching each other's cheeks. I needed her three brothers to hold her for this not so formal sibling shot..it just seemed right! Stay tuned for the reception images. The reception includes a flash mob, a performance by the bride, a video gift movie, a tribute to a dear loved one and the bride's band takes the mic for a bit!

What if it was always July?

I just read this quote tonight,

"I wonder what it would be like to live in a

world where it was always June.-- L. M. Montgomery"

I think it would be wonderful. I embrace summer freedom.I finally had sometime to photograph some of the little people in my world.Here are my parents Grandkids. I have to say when you are related to your subjects photographing them can be a bit harder and frankly none of the adults help steer the herd..it's just Jamie wants to take some pictures again ...blah blah blah. My Monroe, bi level upbringing wants to be able to produce the picture perfect sitting portrait for my Mom...but I prefer the above photographs. Not because it's is what I got (I saw Sublime this week..fantastic concert), but life is in motion and these six kiddies are no exception! One difference if you happen to notice... the girls will pause and look.....the boys not so much. I have to make a shot out to the littlest fella my "Q", touching his head in the group shot...poor thing has been working on so many tasks/directives in Early Intervention when I asked him to sit quietly he tapped his head, ..no worries he has got it down pat now ;) I love that I have this moment! I know I am biased here but look at Grandma and Grandpa's girls...good thing they have these boy cousins around. Ahh hopefully one day I can whisk my nieces away for a spa day, while my nephew and sons tear it up somewhere.Best time to photograph my guys...when they are crashed out hard on the couch.
